I just finished the book The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio. The movie based on the book is also showing on IFC. I really enjoyed it because it has to do with the 50's Housewife Era. I love the vintage designs, the advertisements in the papers, and the idea of seeing new appliances for the fist time. I think the era would have been better to live in than today's. A strong statment, but at least I have my books on the subject to keep me daydreamin'.

This is a poem I was inspired to write by the book. It is simple and probably Elementay level. But if feels like the easiest way to let it out! :)

Money Woes
No Money in Savings
We Spend what we get;
on Mortgage and bills
all of the legit.
We are not hungry
and our clothes always fit;
So why do these Money woes
throw me in a fit?
